11. Connecting the Contours Resource Roundup
switching to Substack, focusing on productivity, mental wellness, and more.
hey, hi, hello.
I’m switching things up.
welcome back or welcome to
the connecting the contours newsletter.
Connecting the Contours is a place for me to explore interconnected topics of interest with others — from essays and reflections to overviews, tools, and how-tos.
here’s what to know from below.
Frequency is changing from monthly, to bi-weekly.
The CtC newsletter has officially moved to Substack (!!!)
The next edition of the newsletter may look different.
CtC | when. why. how.
Based on requests for more frequent sharing, I’m switching the newsletter from monthly to bi-weekly.
going forward.
In a nutshell…
I like understanding how things work.
I'm drawn to the art of effective messaging.
I'm interested in the alignment of purpose and process.
I’m a mental wellness advocate, learning alongside others.
I enjoy productivity; in the sense that I find fulfillment in accomplishment without overwhelm.
So that is largely what I’ll be sharing on Connecting the Contours and in the bi-weekly newsletter.
Substack offers a more simplified way for me to do that. I’m able to write content, send newsletters, and manage subscribers all in one place. I’ve needed multiple tools and systems to achieve this until now.
Let’s see what happens.
As always – use what you find helpful, leave what you don’t.

My social media exit in January of 2023 was to reclaim time spent scrolling. And, it was also more than that.
When it comes to the separation of my professional and personal lives, the divide is distinct and has been prioritized since I first started working at 13. It comes from a place of self-preservation by protecting image and maintaining appearances. After-all, I’m a member of the generation who pioneered myspace and facebook as adolescent status-showcases before realizing, “wait…colleges will rescind your acceptance based on a facebook post???”.
While I am not rejoining social media, I am leaning into sharing more openly — in my day-to-day life and here on Connecting the Contours.
I just love writing. I like creating. The process of puzzling through how the words and ideas fit together is what I most enjoy. And I’ve been standing in my own way.
Life’s too short for that.

I’ll just say this up front: I want Claire to be my mentor.
Luckily for us, this Tim Ferriss interview with former COO of Stripe, Claire Hughes Johnson, offers an array of valuable insight. Claire’s playbook, calling on her experience at both Google and Stripe, is foundational for managers and leaders looking to scale their organization.
This conversation includes discussions about:
Understanding our own work style, motivators, strengths, and blind spots.
Company success and the direct tie to the well-being of its employees.
Building mutual awareness within a team.

If you enjoy CtC, and you think someone else might, too, can I ask that you please forward this to them?
Thank for being here. See you next time.
